Bangladesh have secured their place in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2023 as they beat Afghanistan by 89 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan.
Although Bangladesh have the same points as Sri Lanka but due to their 89-run victory, which massively improved their run rate, they have made their way to the Super Four and the outcome of the match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will have no impact on them.

Group A
Group B
After having a batting collapse and getting all out for 164 in the first match against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh made an excellent comeback today and posted 334 runs on the scoreboard.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (112) and Najmul Hossan Shantu (104) were the heroes for their side as they formed a massive 194-run partnership for the winning side after they were 63-2 in just 11 overs.
The Afghans lost an early wicket during their chase of 335 runs, Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmat Shah's 78-run stand brought some stability to their batting but the latter was soon removed by Taskin Ahmed for 33 runs.
Afghanistan's skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi played a captain innings scoring 51 off 60 including six boundaries but the 28-year-old fell prey to Shoriful Islam
Afghanistan — who were playing their first-ever international match in Pakistan — kept on losing wickets at intervals and were soon all out for 245 runs.
Afghanistan will now play a must-win game against Sri Lanka on September 5 in the last group-stage match of the Asia Cup 2023.
